GAIL Q3 PAT up by 51% Vs Q2

The net sales from petrochemicals business during the nine months of the current financial year decreased by 42 per cent to Rs 2,043crore as against Rs 3,520crore in the corresponding period of previous year

GAIL (India) Limited registered 51 per cent increase in Profit after Tax (PAT) of Rs 664 crore in the third quarter as against Rs 441crore in the second quarter of the current financial year.

Turnover (net of Excise Duty) of Rs 13,380 crore in the third quarter decreased by 5 per cent as against Rs 14,088 crore over the second quarter of the current financial year. The Profit before Tax increased by 40 per cent to Rs922 crore in the third quarter as against Rs660crore in the second quarter of the current financial year.

Segment-wise Revenue

Revenues from LPG and Liquid Hydrocarbons business increased by 11 per cent in third quarter to Rs 827 crore as against Rs748crore in the second quarter of the current financial year. The net sales from Petrochemicals business during the third quarter decreased by 9 per cent to Rs 729 crore as against Rs 798  crore in the second quarter of the current financial year. The sales from Natural Gas Marketing during the third quarter decreased by 4 per cent to Rs 11,686 crore as against Rs 12,218 crore in the second quarter of the current financial year. Natural Gas Transmission revenue decreased by 8 per cent  in third quarter to Rs979crore as against Rs 1,060crore in the second quarter of the current financial year. LPG transmission revenue during the third quarter increased by 1 per cent to Rs 113 crore as against Rs 112 crore in the second quarter of the current financial year. 

Physical Performance

During the third quarter of the current financial year, the Natural Gas sales were 77.12 MMSCMD, i.e. an increase by 4 per cent from 74.25MMSCMD during the second quarter of current financial year. The Natural Gas transmission during the third quarter of the current financial year was 97.09 MMSCMD i.e. an increase by 8 per cent from 90.26 MMSCMD in the second quarter of current financial year. During the third quarter of the current financial year, the petrochemical production was 94 TMT i.e. an increase by 11% from 85 TMT in the second quarter of the current financial year. The polymer sales during the third quarter of the current financial year was 84TMT and same as in the second quarter of the current financial year. The LPG transmission during the third quarter of the current financial year was 692 TMT i.e. an increase by 1 per cent from 687 TMT in the second quarter of the current financial year. The LPG and Other Liquid Hydrocarbon production during the third quarter of the current financial year was 295 TMT i.e. an increase by 16 per cent from 256 TMT in the second quarter of the current financial year. The LPG and Other Liquid Hydrocarbons sales during the third quarter of the current financial year was 294 TMT i.e. an increase by 15 per cent from 255 TMT in the second quarter of the current financial year.

Nine months Results

GAIL (India) Limited registered a turnover (net of Excise Duty) of  Rs39,987 crore in the first nine months of FY2015-16 as against Rs 42,334  crore, decreased by 6 per cent over the turnover in the corresponding period  of previous year. GAIL’s Net Profit after tax for the first nine months of FY 2015-16 was Rs 1,529crore i.e decreased by 40 per cent against Rs 2,528crore in the corresponding period of previous year. The Profit before Tax decreased by 40 per cent to Rs2,233crore in the nine months of the current financial year against Rs 3,726crore in the corresponding period of previous year.

Segment-wise Revenue

During the nine months of the current financial year, revenues from Natural Gas Transmission increased by 22 per cent to Rs 2,964crore as against Rs 2,422crore in the corresponding period of previous year. The revenues from LPG transmission during the nine months of the current financial year increased by 14% to Rs 361 crore as against Rs 316 crore in the corresponding period of previous year. The net sales from Petrochemicals business during the nine months of the current financial year decreased by 42 per cent to Rs 2,043crore as against Rs 3,520crore in the corresponding period of previous year. The net sales from LPG and Liquid Hydrocarbons business during the nine months of the current financial year decreased by 38 per cent to Rs 2,505crore as against Rs 4,018crore in the corresponding period of previous year. The revenues from Natural Gas Marketing during the nine months of the current financial year decreased by 6 per cent to Rs 34,486crore as against Rs 36,655crore in the corresponding period of previous year.

Physical Performance

The Natural Gas transmission during the nine months of the current financial year was 91.63MMSCMD i.e., a decrease by 3 per cent  from 94.05MMSCMD in the corresponding period of previous year. The Natural Gas sales during the nine months of FY 2015-16 was 73.43MMSCMD, as against 73.18MMSCMD during the corresponding period last year. During the nine months of the current financial year, petrochemical production was 230 TMT i.e a decrease by 32 per cent against 336 TMT in the corresponding period of previous year. The petrochemical sales during the nine months of the current financial year was 217 TMT i.e a decrease by 30 per cent from 309 TMT in the corresponding period of previous year. The LPG transmission during the nine months of the current financial year was 2,068 TMT i.e a decreaseby 10 per cent as against from 2,306 TMT during the corresponding period of previous financial year. The LPG and Other Liquid Hydrocarbon production during the nine months of the current financial year were 830 TMT i.e a decreaseby15 per cent from 978 TMT in the corresponding period of previous year. The LPG and Other Liquid Hydrocarbon sales during the nine months of the current financial year was 826 TMT i.e  a decrease by 15 per cent from 975 TMT in the corresponding period of previous year.
