Everllence has secured an order to supply its PARSYN synthesis gas compressor train for AM Green’s green ammonia project in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, India. This marks the first commercial application of the PARSYN compressor train concept, which Everllence developed specifically for green ammonia production.

AM Green is transforming its traditional natural gas-based ammonia and urea complex into a state-of-the-art green ammonia facility. The project's Everllence train will power a production unit capable of delivering 1,500 tons of green ammonia daily (approximately 525,000 tons per year). By shifting away from conventional manufacturing methods, this initiative will prevent roughly one million tons of CO2 emissions annually. Targetting international markets, the facility has secured a long-term supply agreement with Germany's Uniper, with initial shipments scheduled to begin as early as 2028.

Sunil Sharma, Sales Manager India at Everllence, said: “The Kakinada project is a significant step towards producing green ammonia at industrial scale in India. By converting existing facilities to use renewable hydrogen, AM Green is showing how established industrial infrastructure can become part of a lower-carbon production chain. We are pleased that our first PARSYN® compressor train will contribute to this project.”

PARSYN - short for parallel syngas compressor - arranges two compressors in parallel and connects them through a gearbox. Each compressor can run at a suitable speed, making the train more compact, easier to maintain, and driven by an electric motor suited to green ammonia plants, which generate far less process steam.

Markus Schürmann, Senior Sales and Development Manager Green Ammonia at Everllence, added: “We looked at the entire train and how its components work together in a green ammonia plant. The concept is new for ammonia plants, but it builds on decades of experience in designing compressors and machinery trains for demanding industrial processes. By arranging two compressors in parallel and matching each to its operating requirements, we can make the train more compact and improve its efficiency - reducing both the investment needed to build the plant and the energy required to run it.”

Developed in Oberhausen, Germany, the train will feature two RB compressors manufactured and performance tested in Zurich, Switzerland. Delivery is scheduled for late 2027, with commissioning in 2028.
