KAPSOM has completed all equipment shipments for Australia’s Good Earth Green Hydrogen and Ammonia (GEGHA) project, clearing a major milestone as the 5,000-tonne-per-year green ammonia facility moves closer to operation in early 2027.
The shipments, completed in late September 2026, included the project’s core ammonia synthesis skid. With manufacturing and dispatch now complete, KAPSOM’s focus shifts to on-site installation and commissioning.
Located near Moree in New South Wales, alongside the Wathagar cotton ginning facility, GEGHA is being developed by Hiringa Energy and Sundown Pastoral Company. The integrated solar-to-hydrogen-and-ammonia project is designed to produce fertiliser and renewable fuel locally, supporting cotton growers while helping drive decarbonisation across the agricultural sector.
The facility’s planned annual production capacity of 5,000 tonnes positions the project as a practical demonstration of modular green ammonia production in a commercial farming environment. By linking renewable energy with local fertiliser demand, GEGHA aims to offer a pathway to lower emissions while strengthening regional supply chains.
With equipment shipments complete, installation and commissioning will be critical next steps towards the project’s planned early 2027 start-up.
KAPSOM thanked all project partners and teams for their dedication and collaboration, saying their efforts have brought GEGHA closer to operation and green ammonia closer to everyday agricultural use.
