ExCom GmbH will serve as the central commercial and technical interface for regional customers
Exide Industries Limited has signed a long-term strategic alliance with Germany’s ExCom Energy Solutions GmbH to expand its industrial battery and energy storage systems business. Under the agreement, signed on September 15, 2026, the companies will target the European Economic Area (EEA) market. All collaborative products and solutions will be marketed and distributed under the ExCom brand.
Under this agreement, ExCom GmbH will serve as the central commercial and technical interface for regional customers, managing customer development, distribution, technical project support, and after-sales coordination. The initiative will initially focus on traction and motive-power battery solutions for material-handling equipment, logistics operations, and industrial mobility, alongside stationary battery systems for industrial, infrastructure, and energy storage applications.
The partnership pairs Exide India's manufacturing capabilities, technology portfolio, and decades of industrial battery expertise with ExCom GmbH's market presence, application engineering, and local customer support infrastructure. Together, they aim to deliver tailored battery systems, charging technologies, system integration, application engineering, and lifecycle services that meet European regulatory and operational requirements. Both companies also plan to venture into advanced chemistry solutions in the future.
Avik Roy, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Exide Industries Limited, highlighted that the European Economic Area is a strategically important market with growing demand for dependable and sustainable energy solutions. He emphasized that combining ExCom GmbH's market access and local execution capabilities with Exide India's manufacturing scale and technological expertise will create long-term value for European customers and accelerate growth in the region.

He expressed enthusiasm for building a robust European platform for traction batteries, expanding into next-generation industrial energy storage and advanced chemistry applications, and supporting customers across the entire battery lifecycle from system design to maintenance.
