Exide Industries, a leading battery manufacturer, has announced a significant investment of Rs. 80 crore in its wholly-owned subsidiary, Exide Energy Solutions Limited (EESL).

EESL is setting up a 6-GWh Li-ion cell manufacturing facility in Bengaluru as part of phase-1, with plans to expand to 12 GWh based on market demand. Exide already operates in the Li-ion battery pack assembly segment, offering complete end-to-end solutions from cell to system, termed “molecule to megawatt.

The investment was executed through a subscription to EESL's equity share capital on a rights basis.

With this infusion, Exide Industries' total investment in EESL has reached Rs. 3,882.23 crore, underscoring the company's commitment to establishing a strong foothold in the advanced battery technology sector.

Exide Energy Solutions Limited, incorporated on 24th March 2022, is engaged in the manufacturing and selling of lithium-ion battery cells, modules, and packs.
