GFCL EV bags $130M to boost India’s battery materials ambitions

Gujarat Fluorochemicals, India’s leading fluorochemicals company, has announced that its subsidiary, GFCL EV, has raised approximately $80 million from a global marquee investor. 
 
This comes on top of $50 million already secured from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group.
 
The capital infusion will drive high-value manufacturing, create jobs, strengthen global supply chain positioning, and advance priorities in energy security, transport electrification, and local value creation.
 
With a diversified battery materials portfolio and robust credentials, GFCL EV aims to reinforce India’s emergence as a competitive player in the battery-materials value chain. Grounded in innovation and sustainability, the company will accelerate clean-technology adoption and lower emissions.
 
GFCL EV in India boasts fully integrated manufacturing capabilities for battery chemicals, with backward integration into key raw materials.
