Syensqo’s Energain SA076 gains traction in high-voltage smartphone batteries

Energain SA076 has reached a new level of industrial maturity, already validated across multiple use cases with leading smartphone manufacturers
Global speciality chemicals major Syensqo is seeing accelerating commercial uptake of its Energain SA076 solution in advanced consumer electronics. This marks a key step forward in next-generation battery technology for premium smartphones.
The material is enabling lithium-ion batteries used in flagship mobile devices to operate at higher voltages while maintaining safety and performance. It is now deployed in lithium cobalt oxide (LCO) systems paired with silicon-carbon (Si-C) anodes running above 4.53V—an important milestone for high-energy mobile platforms.
Energain SA076 has reached a new level of industrial maturity, already validated across multiple use cases with leading smartphone manufacturers, particularly in Asia.
It is currently integrated into flagship devices and is expected to see broader adoption in upcoming 4.55V mobile platforms set for large-scale commercialization in 2026. Key markets include China, followed by Korea, Japan, Europe, and the United States.
At the core of its value proposition, the material helps address swelling challenges associated with silicon-anode batteries while improving overall safety and system stability.
Depending on design requirements, SA076 is used at dosage levels ranging from 5% to 40%, allowing manufacturers flexibility without compromising performance under demanding conditions.
