Apcotex to expand nitrile latex capacity by 60,000 MTPA

In the next phase, the company is planning further expansion of 30,000 MTPA taking total manufacturing capacity to 90,000 MTPA


Apcotex Industries Limited, one of the leading manufacturers of Synthetic Latex in India, is planning to expand Nitrile Latex capacity at its Valia plant in Gujarat and Taloja plant in Maharashtra by around 60,000 MTPA. 
 
The plants will be designed for flexibility to manufacture a few existing products as required. 
 
"The capacity will be further expanded to 90,000 MTPA in the next phase as the global demand for Nitrile gloves is expected to grow rapidly over the next few years," says Abhiraj Choksey, MD, Apcotex Industries Limited. 
 
The products manufactured by Apcotex Industries include: Synthetic Latex - Styrene-Butadiene, Vinyl Pyridine, and Styrene Acrylic latex and Synthetic Rubber - NBR, HSR, NBR-PVC, and NBR powder. 
 
The company has also one of the broadest range of Emulsion Polymers available in the market catering to industries such as paper, paperboard, construction, carpet, tyre, textiles, footwear, auto components, rice dehusking rollers, hoses, and several industrial rubber applications.
 
Nitrile Latex is used in the production of Nitrile gloves used in the healthcare and industrial segments. Apcotex has developed unique, high-quality, cost-effective grades of Nitrile Latex for synthetic rubber gloves and has been manufacturing and selling Nitrile Latex from their current plants at Valia and Taloja for the last couple of years. 
 
In the next phase, the company is planning further expansion of 30,000 MTPA taking the total manufacturing capacity to 90,000 MTPA
as global demand for Nitrile Gloves is expected to grow rapidly over the next few years.
