Asahi Songwon Colors, one of India’s leading manufacturers of pigments, colorants and APIs, reported a strong financial performance for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, with significant growth across key business metrics.

The company’s consolidated total revenue stood at Rs.189.70 crore in Q1FY27, registering a 28.57% quarter-on-quarter (Q-o-Q) growth and a 25.35% year-on-year (Y-o-Y) increase.

Consolidated EBITDA rose sharply to Rs.32.60 crore, marking a 41.62% Q-o-Q and 171.56% Y-o-Y increase. EBITDA margin improved to 17.18% in Q1FY27, compared with 15.60% in Q4FY26 and 7.93% in Q1FY26.

The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs.19.03 crore, a strong increase of 75.80% Q-o-Q and 633.26% Y-o-Y.

Segment snapshots: Revenue contribution across key business segments during Q1FY27 stood at Phthalocyanine: Rs.138.14 crore, AZO: Rs.17.02 crore, API: Rs.34.54 crore.

Commenting on the Azo and API businesses, Gokul Jaykrishna, Managing Director, said: "In the Azo business, the quarter was marked by a steep uptick in raw material costs, which led some customers to defer their purchases. As a result, volumes came in lower than we had earlier envisaged.

"This was largely a timing-related impact rather than a reflection of underlying demand, and with input costs stabilising and deferred requirements expected to return, we remain confident of returning to our earlier volume levels from the current quarter onwards."

He added: 'In the API business, we continue to make steady progress. After a prolonged period of pressure, the quarter saw an increase in realisations for the first time in a long while, even as we continued to grow our volumes. We remain confident of improving our performance in the API business on a steady basis in the quarters ahead.

"While we continue to measurably scale up both the Azo and API businesses, the strong cash flows generated across all our businesses have enabled us to deleverage well. This remains a key priority, with no fresh capex immediately lined up. Taken together, we remain confident of carrying forward this strong momentum into FY27 and delivering a strong performance through the year.”

On the performance of the Blue business, Arjun G. Jaykrishna, Chief Executive Officer & Executive Director, said: "The first quarter of FY27 marked an exceptionally strong start to the year for our phthalocyanine pigment business, with growth driven by gains in both volumes and realisations.

"The increase in topline was accompanied by a sharp improvement in the profitability profile of the business, which translated into strong growth in profitability during the quarter."
