Bayer Crop Science Canada has unveiled Sivanto Energy, a new foliar insecticide aimed at tackling one of canola’s most persistent early-season threats: flea beetles.

Bayer positions Sivanto Energy as a new tool in its canola protection portfolio, offering growers a reliable, flexible option as pest pressure and management challenges continue to evolve.

The product combines two active ingredients — deltamethrin and flupyradifurone — delivering dual modes of action designed to provide rapid knockdown and extended protection. Bayer says the formulation offers a powerful new option for growers facing intense flea beetle pressure.

“This integrated multiple active ingredient approach not only ensures comprehensive pest management but also provides growers with the flexibility they need,” said Ashley Smith, SeedGrowth & Broadacre Insecticide Product Manager at Bayer. “It's about empowering farmers to protect their canola with effective tools that help manage pests and time on their farms.”

Sivanto Energy pairs Group 3 and Group 4D insecticides, a combination Bayer says supports resistance management while maintaining strong performance. The company says the product delivers fast activity along with systemic protection lasting up to four days, helping shield young canola plants during their most vulnerable growth stages.

“With Sivanto Energy, farmers can have peace of mind knowing their canola - fields are protected, allowing them to focus on other aspects that lead to a successful harvest on their operations,” said Bryan Bryson, Marketing Portfolio Lead. “This product truly represents the next generation of flea beetle protection.”
