Emerges as pure-play crop protection company
Corteva has completed the spin-off of its advanced seed and genetics business, marking a major strategic shift as the company moves forward as a pure-play global crop protection company.
The separation gives Corteva a sharper focus on crop protection, with the company pointing to stronger growth, expanding margins and a deep innovation pipeline as it enters its next phase.
"This is a new day for Corteva, and we couldn't be more excited as we move forward with greater focus, agility and a renewed commitment to innovation and operational excellence," said Corteva CEO Luke Kissam.
"As the challenges facing agriculture continue to evolve, we're ready to meet the needs of the future with the industry's best people, portfolio and pipeline—advancing safe, effective and sustainable solutions that deliver for farmers, our channel partners and our shareholders."
Corteva said its crop protection business added more than $1 billion in revenue between 2020 and 2025 while expanding operating EBITDA margins by approximately 250 basis points on a segment basis.
The company has also expanded its biologicals and natural products platform and shifted its portfolio toward differentiated technologies, which now account for about 65% of sales.
Corteva is entering its new structure with an $11 billion crop protection pipeline, backed by global research and development capabilities spanning microbial discovery, integrated development and predictive safety platforms.
The company said innovation will remain central to its growth strategy as farmers face mounting pressures from weather, insects, weeds and diseases.
The spin-off marks a significant reshaping of Corteva's business, leaving the company focused squarely on crop protection and its drive to develop differentiated solutions for farmers.
