The film combines performance with versatility
Cosmo Films, a global leader in specialty films, has launched its Sealable Peelable Transparent Anti-Fog BOPET (PET) Lidding Film, designed to enhance product visibility, extend shelf life, and improve packaging performance for refrigerated and fresh foods.
Condensation has long plagued food packaging, especially in cold-chain environments where temperature swings cause moisture build-up. Fogged packaging can obscure products and impact consumer trust at the point of sale. Cosmo Films’ new lidding film tackles this problem head-on, featuring an advanced anti-fog coating on the sealable side that prevents droplet formation and maintains crystal-clear visibility throughout storage and display.
The film combines performance with versatility. It seals at low temperatures for compatibility with high-speed packaging lines while optimizing energy efficiency. Sealable and peelable, it delivers strong yet easy-open seals without compromising pack integrity.
Microwave-safe and designed for ready-to-eat and prepared foods, it also extends shelf life by 4–5 days for fresh salads and vegetables. Compatible with substrates including PP, HIPS, PET, PVC, and LDPE containers, it supports diverse packaging formats and is recyclable in mainstream PET streams.
“In food packaging, visibility is directly linked to consumer trust and purchase decisions,” said Kulbhushan Malik, Global Business Head, Cosmo Films.
“With our Anti-Fog Transparent BOPET Lidding Films, we are addressing a key pain point for brands by combining condensation control with superior clarity, strong sealing performance and ease of use. This launch reinforces our commitment to expanding our specialty portfolio with high-performance, value-added solutions that support both product protection and brand differentiation.”
The new lidding films are suited for a wide range of applications, including refrigerated and frozen foods, prepared fruits, fresh-cut vegetables, ready-to-eat meals, bakery products, dairy items like yogurt and butter, pasta, fresh meat, and salami. They also excel in packaging fresh produce such as vegetables, herbs, berries, fruits, and mushrooms—categories where clear visibility and freshness perception drive purchase decisions.
The launch strengthens Cosmo Films’ specialty portfolio and aligns with its strategy of innovation-led growth and higher value-added offerings. With continued R&D investment, the company aims to deliver solutions that extend shelf life, improve packaging efficiency, and enhance the consumer experience.
