Daikin Industries has announced the launch of Daikin Chemical India Private Limited in Gurugram, Haryana, marking a major push to expand its presence in India’s growing chemical market.
The new company will manage sales, technical support, and marketing for Daikin’s fluorochemical products.
Through this move, Daikin aims to “strengthen its chemical business presence in India and expand its technical support and marketing activities for local customers.”
India’s industrial sector is poised for growth under the government’s Make in India initiative, which promotes local manufacturing. This is expected to drive demand for high-quality fluorinated materials used in semiconductors, batteries, ICT, and air conditioning.
“To establish a local supply chain, close collaboration with local components and materials manufacturers, along with strong technical support, will be essential,” Daikin said.
The new subsidiary will deepen customer engagement and enhance technical support in India.
“With a view to potential local production, the company will closely monitor local demand trends and further strengthen its marketing activities,” the company added. In parallel, Daikin plans to “establish a stable refrigerant supply framework for its air conditioning business, reinforcing its business foundation in the country.”
Daikin’s chemical division develops, manufactures, and markets high-performance fluorochemical materials, providing essential inputs that support industrial development worldwide. By expanding operations in India, Daikin aims to grow its business while contributing to “the country’s sustainable economic and industrial growth.”
