The acquisition of Filtra is expected to complement Dorf Ketal’s process chemical solutions which are mainly targeted at the crude oil refining and petrochemical industries.

Dorf Ketal Chemicals India, the market leader in organic titanate and zirconate technologies, has acquired Filtra Catalysts and Chemicals, the Thane (Maharashtra) based diversified producer of petrochemical and general catalysts. Filtra is a leading producer of adsorbents and catalysts for downstream hydrocarbon industries such as oil refineries, petrochemicals and fertiliser plants. In addition, Filtra also specialises in coatings for electrical steel besides manufacturing a range of specialty chemicals for various industries. It has a strong export base and annualised revenue in the range of $ 10-15 million.

The acquisition of Filtra is expected to complement Dorf Ketal’s process chemical solutions which are mainly targeted at the crude oil refining and petrochemical industries. These chemicals also serve the global fuel additives market with a broad portfolio of products and services and the grease and lubricant market with component additives.

Dorf Ketal has three manufacturing facilities in India and a plant in Brazil, with contract manufacturing in the US and the Netherlands.

At Mundra (Gujarat), it manufactures organic titanates and process chemicals. The company's Taloja plant, near Mumbai, manufactures process chemicals for the refining and petrochemical industries. The Dadra plant in Gujarat produces organic titanates and polyvinyl formal (PVF). In Brazil, Dorf Ketal’s Porto Alegre facility manufactures specialty chemicals for hydrocarbon industries.
