Integrated chemical manufacturer Epigral Limited reported a robust 26% year-on-year (YoY) jump in profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 64 crore for the second quarter of FY27, compared with Rs 51 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
The company's revenue surged 28% to Rs 752 crore during the quarter, up from Rs 589 crore in Q2FY26, driven by higher sales volumes and improved realisations.
Despite challenging and volatile market conditions, Epigral recorded a 6% increase in sales volume. Its Derivatives and Specialty business strengthened its contribution to overall revenue to 57%, up from 50% in the year-ago quarter, underscoring the growing importance of its value-added product portfolio.
EBITDA stood at Rs 136 crore, marginally higher than Rs 132 crore in Q2FY26. However, the EBITDA margin remained under pressure at 18% due to elevated raw material costs.
For the first half of FY27, Epigral delivered a resilient performance, with revenue rising 21% to Rs 1,461 crore from Rs 1,204 crore in the corresponding period last year, despite geopolitical tensions, volatile price movements and seasonal weakness in some product segments.
H1FY27 EBITDA increased to Rs 315 crore from Rs 296 crore, while the EBITDA margin remained healthy at 22%. PAT climbed 25% to Rs 164 crore, compared with Rs 131 crore in H1FY26.
Commenting on the performance, Maulik Patel, Chairman and Managing Director, Epigral Limited, said: “Despite a challenging operating environment in Q2FY27, we achieved revenue growth of 28%, driven by volume growth and improved realisations. Elevated raw material prices had its impact on EBITDA margins; however, our H1FY27 performance remained resilient, with revenue growth of 21% and an EBITDA margin of 22%.
"With the second half of the fiscal traditionally delivering stronger performance than the first, we maintain positive outlook for H2FY27.”
Epigral is accelerating its capacity expansion programme, with its CPVC and ECH projects entering their final stages and trial runs already underway. Both plants are expected to be commissioned within the next quarter.
The company's Epoxy Resin and Formulation and MPP projects are also progressing as scheduled, as it looks to capitalise on India's growing chemical demand and expand its high-value product portfolio.
“Fueled by India's robust demand growth, we are executing our expansion plans on schedule. The CPVC and ECH expansions are in their final stages with trial runs underway; both plants are expected to commission in a quarter’s time. Meanwhile, our Epoxy Resin & Formulation and MPP projects are progressing as planned. The Revenue contribution from Derivatives & Specialty business stood at 57% and will expand further with these projects”.
Epigral invested Rs 88 crore in capital expenditure during H1FY27. Its board has also approved capital expenditure for two additional projects, which are expected to be commissioned by H2FY28.
“Epigral remains focused on strengthening its integrated manufacturing ecosystem, broadening its portfolio of high-value chemical products, and creating long-term value for all stakeholders” Patel added.
