Global speciality chemicals major Evonik has unveiled a high-impact addition to its epoxy curing portfolio, introducing Ancamine 2875—a next-generation solution designed to tackle one of the flooring industry’s most persistent challenges: moisture failure.

Engineered for ultrafast curing, strong adhesion to cold and damp concrete, and industry-leading moisture vapor barrier performance, the new curing agent signals a strategic push by Evonik into high-performance, compliance-driven flooring systems.

The launch underscores the company’s focus on delivering solutions that perform under pressure—where time, durability, and environmental standards all collide.

At the core of Ancamine 2875 is a technical breakthrough: the ability to combine ultrafast curing with extended working time, a pairing rarely achieved in epoxy systems. By eliminating the need for hazardous alkylphenol accelerators, Evonik has also delivered an ultra-low-emission product, aligning with stricter safety and environmental expectations across the construction sector.

“Moisture-related flooring failures remain a major risk for our customers, both technically and financially. With Ancamine2875, we deliver a solution that mitigates that risk while combining ultrafast curing with extended working time. This enables greater efficiency and compliance without compromising performance,” said Kevin Wohlhauser, Americas Market Director at Evonik Crosslinkers.

The product meets ASTM F3010 standards, positioning it as a robust defense against moisture vapor transmission through concrete—one of the leading causes of costly flooring breakdowns. Its performance credentials are further reinforced by its ability to operate effectively across a wide range of formulations while remaining compatible with standard diluted liquid epoxy resins.

Evonik is also positioning Ancamine 2875 as a cost-efficient alternative to more expensive systems, offering formulators greater flexibility without sacrificing performance or compliance.

“With Ancamine 2875, customers can achieve moisture vapor barrier performance of less than 0.1 perms at coating thicknesses as low as 12 mils, as demonstrated by ASTM E-96 testing,” said Dr. Shiying Zheng, Applied Technology Director for Evonik Crosslinkers. “This innovation delivers both performance and value, making it an ideal solution for modern flooring systems.”

With tightening regulations and rising performance demands reshaping the flooring market, Evonik’s latest launch positions it squarely at the intersection of speed, safety, and durability.
