Evonik’s siloxane-based defoamer concentrate, has been honored with the Ringier Coating Industry Innovation Award, underscoring its impact on performance and sustainability in waterborne coatings.

 

The award recognizes “technological innovation, strong performance, and contribution to the sustainable development of waterborne coatings,” highlighting solutions that advance performance, environmental responsibility, and practical applicability. 

 

TEGO Foamex 8051 was selected for its ability to overcome key technical and regulatory challenges in modern formulations while maintaining a strong sustainability profile.

 

Specifically designed for aqueous systems, TEGO Foamex 8051 is a 100% active polyether-siloxane defoamer that delivers rapid foam knockdown and long-lasting control at very low dosages. It maintains efficiency even under high-shear processing conditions, making it suitable for high-viscosity and high-PVC architectural coatings as well as pigment grinds. 

 

The product also supports efficient grinding, strong storage stability, and consistent performance across the coating lifecycle.

 

On the environmental front, the formulation contains no added mineral oils, hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), APEOs, or PFAS. It delivers near-zero VOC and SVOC content and is compliant with the EU Ecolabel and registered in major global markets for wide regulatory acceptance.
