The upgraded facility will produce a full spectrum of 2,4-D technical and bulk products
Flourish Paper & Chemicals Ltd. has unveiled plans to increase its 2,4-D production capacity to 10,000 MT per annum, starting next fiscal year. This expansion, backed by a Rs. 50 crore investment, is designed to enhance the company’s backward integration, operational efficiency, and competitive standing in the global market.
The upgraded facility will produce a full spectrum of 2,4-D technical and bulk products—specifically sodium salt, acid, amine, and ethyl ester—supported by new, high-efficiency reaction systems and improved chlorination/hydrolysis units.
The plant modernization integrates APC systems to boost reaction yield, ensure batch consistency, and enhance safety. Furthermore, these upgrades optimize raw materials, cut process losses, and improve energy efficiency.
With increased flexibility in manufacturing 2,4-D acid, salt, amine and ester variants, the company can efficiently cater to region-specific formulation requirements and regulatory standards.
Commenting on the expansion, Gaurav Mehra, Director, stated: “The 2,4-D capacity enhancement is a strategic investment aimed at reinforcing our technical capabilities and global competitiveness. With a ₹50 Crore capital infusion, we have strengthened core process infrastructure, improved operational efficiency, and enhanced environmental compliance standards. This expansion enables us to deliver consistent quality across acid, amine, and ester derivatives while meeting the growing global demand for phenoxy herbicides.”
He further added: Our focus remains on process optimization, cost competitiveness, and responsible manufacturing practices to ensure long-term value creation for customers and stakeholders.”
The expanded 2,4-D capacity of 10,000 MT per annum will be commissioned from the beginning of FY 2026–27, with full-scale commercial production scheduled immediately thereafter.
