GACL posts record Q1 FY27 performance: quarterly revenue hits all-time high, EBITDA surges 83%

GACL’s sales revenue climbed to Rs.1,224.84 crore in Q1 FY27
Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) has delivered a strong start to FY 2026-27.
The company has reported its highest-ever quarterly revenue in the first quarter, driven by improved product mix, expanding export markets, greater renewable energy adoption and strategic growth initiatives.
GACL’s sales revenue climbed to Rs.1,224.84 crore in Q1 FY27, marking an increase of Rs.151.39 crore or 14% compared with Rs.1,073.45 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The record performance was supported by product mix optimization aimed at improving realizations and the company’s growing presence in new export markets.
The company also recorded a sharp improvement in profitability, with EBITDA rising 83% to Rs.229 crore, compared with Rs.125 crore in Q1 of the previous year. Profit Before Tax witnessed a significant turnaround, increasing by Rs.100 crore or 1000% to Rs.110 crore, compared with Rs.10 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Highlighting the company’s performance, Avantika Singh, Managing Director of GACL, said, "GACL delivered a strong start to FY 2026-27, achieving its highest ever Quarterly Sales revenue for the 1st Quarter of Financial Year 2026-27 has increased by Rs.151.39 crore (i.e. by 14%) to Rs.1,224.84 crore as compared to Rs.1,073.45 crore of the corresponding quarter of Previous year."
She further said, "During this quarter; the Company could achieve highest ever quarterly revenue on account of product mix optimization to increase realization and expanding product footprint through new export markets."
Energy efficiency and sustainability remained key focus areas for GACL during the quarter. The company increased its renewable energy share significantly to 59% from 39% in the corresponding period last year, helping reduce energy costs while supporting India’s net-zero carbon commitments.
The Managing Director added, "Energy is continued focus area for the Company and during the first quarter of FY 2026-27, the Company could reduce energy costs as compared to corresponding quarter of previous year on account of increased share of renewable power."
GACL is also advancing its strategic expansion plans. The Board has granted in-principle approval for setting up another HCL synthesis unit at Dahej, with an estimated project cost of Rs.55 crore. The new facility is expected to strengthen chlorine utilization and enable further optimization of caustic soda production at Dahej.
