Galaxy seems to be the limit for Galaxy Surfactants when it comes to earnings.
The company has opened FY27 with a sharp jump in profitability, reporting its highest-ever quarterly EBITDA of Rs. 252.5 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.
The performance marks an 86.9% year-on-year surge in EBITDA from Rs. 135.1 crore in Q1FY26 and a 107.1% sequential jump from Rs. 121.9 crore in Q4FY26.
Revenue also climbed strongly, rising 38.5% YoY to Rs. 1,785.2 crore, while profit after tax more than doubled to Rs. 165.9 crore, up 108.7% from Rs. 79.5 crore a year earlier.
Profitability improved significantly during the quarter, with EBITDA per tonne rising to around Rs. 35,458, compared with approximately Rs. 20,009 a tonne in Q1FY26.
The company, which manufactures more than 215 product grades of performance surfactants and specialty care products for the Home and Personal Care industry, said consolidated volumes grew in the mid-single digits year-on-year.
India returned to double-digit volume growth, while the Specialty Care business continued to gain momentum across international markets.
The AMET region, however, remained under pressure from geopolitical developments in West Asia, with volumes declining in the low single digits year-on-year. The region nevertheless posted a strong sequential recovery, pointing to resilient customer demand and improved execution.
Galaxy attributed the stronger performance to a better business mix, recovery in demand from Tier-1 customers, increased contribution from Specialty Care and disciplined pricing actions.
Despite sharp swings in feedstock prices and supply-chain disruptions linked to the West Asia situation, the company said its diversified product portfolio, agile supply chain, strong vendor relationships and operational capabilities helped it maintain continuity and deliver record profitability.
Commenting on the performance, K. Natarajan, Managing Director, Galaxy Surfactants Limited, said: “I am pleased that the strategic foundations we have been building over the years have translated into tangible outcomes. Our ability to anticipate risks, manage volatility, make disciplined commercial decisions and leverage a diversified portfolio has enabled us to emerge stronger despite a challenging external environment.
"This performance is also a reflection of the exceptional efforts and collaboration demonstrated by our teams across business development, commercial excellence, procurement, global logistics, manufacturing and operations, who have ensured agility, continuity and flawless execution amidst significant external disruptions."
He added: "While we remain watchful of evolving geopolitical developments and their impact on global supply chains, we are encouraged by the recovery in customer demand, the strong momentum in Specialty Care and the continued strength of our India business.
"We remain confident in our ability to deliver sustainable long-term growth through disciplined execution, customer centric approach and a continued focus on creating long-term value for all stakeholders.”
