The production capacity of the planned facility at Dahej is 105,000 TPA.
Gujarat-based chemical manufacturing company, Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) informed today that its board has revised project cost estimates for the company’s unit in Dahej.
The company had informed earlier that it envisages setting up a plant of 105,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) capacity of chloromethane at Dahej in Gujarat.
The cost outlay of the project was estimated to be Rs. 683 crore. However, the company informed that it has now revised these cost estimates to Rs. 800 crore.
The company has plants for same chemical material at Vadodara unit, having a capacity of 56,100 TPA. In the last five years, the production capacity of Chloromethane has seen growth of 6.26% till the end of FY19. It grew from 37,888 MT as of end of FY14 to 51,325 MT in FY19.
As per its annual report in FY19, along with this chloromethane plant, the company has also indicated an implementation of 33,870 TPA Phosphoric Acid plant and 10,000 TPA of Hydrazine Hydrate Plant at Dahej facility.
