Huntsman Corporation has agreed to sell its Italian automotive components business, Huntsman Gomet, to Trelleborg Group for €42.5 million, a move to cut its debt.

 

The divestment covers Gomet, a manufacturer of molded rubber and thermoplastic components for the automotive aftermarket, based in Azeglio, Italy. The business sits within Huntsman’s Polyurethanes division and was originally acquired in 2014 as part of the Rockwood transaction.

 

Gomet generated approximately €24 million in revenue in 2025, underscoring a relatively small but steady industrial asset within the group’s portfolio.

 

Huntsman said proceeds from the sale will be used to reduce outstanding borrowings, signaling continued balance-sheet focus through targeted divestments.

 

Houlihan Lokey acted as financial advisor to Huntsman, while Freshfields LLP served as legal counsel on the transaction.
