Jaju Krushi Utpadan and Prakriya Udyog Pvt. Ltd has approached the Ministry of Environment and Forests seeking environmental clearance for setting up a grain-based distillery unit at Chikhali MIDC Area in Maharashtra\'s Buldhana district.

The distillery unit will have the capacity to produce 30 KLPD of extra neutral alcohol.

Along with the main product the distillery will also produce an animal feed called as distillers' dry grain with soluble.

The company said that the whole integrated approach and production of distillers' dry grain with soluble will result in zero effluent discharge i.e., no process effluent released from the unit into outside.

The proposed distillery will utilize mainly corn and sorghum as the basic raw material to produce extra neutral alcohol.

The company said that alcohol has assumed a very important place in the country’s economy and it is a vital raw material for a number of chemicals.

The proposed project envisages activities like land development, construction of buildings and installation of machinery. The company said the EIA will address all these activities and assess cumulative impact associated with establishment of proposed project.

The socio-economic benefits arising out of the project for the local population will include creation of direct and indirect jobs and consequent rise in the income levels, associated commercial and social infrastructure development in the areas.
