Jubilant Ingrevia posts strongest quarterly revenue in nearly four years as Q1 profit jumps 41%

Revenue for the quarter rose 25% year-on-year to Rs. 1,300 crore


Jubilant Ingrevia has reported a strong start to FY27, with first-quarter profit rising 41% year-on-year and revenue touching a 15-quarter high, driven by robust demand across pharma, nutrition and specialty chemicals.
 
Revenue for the quarter rose 25% year-on-year to Rs. 1,300 crore, while EBITDA increased 36% to Rs. 209 crore. Profit after tax climbed 41% to Rs. 106 crore, with EBITDA margin improving to 16% from 15% a year earlier. Earnings per share stood at Rs. 6.7, up 41% from corresponding quarter last year.
 
Chairman Shyam S Bhartia and Co-Chairman Hari S. Bhartia said the company had delivered healthy growth despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainties.
 
“We are pleased to report a strong start to FY2027, delivering healthy financial performance in the first quarter. Revenue grew by 25% YoY, while EBITDA increased by 37% YoY, reflecting the strength of our business model and disciplined execution across operations."
 
Markets Update:
 
Despite continued geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East, demand across the chemical industry has remained resilient, as per the company. Industry volumes have stayed stable, while pricing has shown a firming trend in recent weeks, driven by improving consumption dynamics across key customer segments.
 
"Pharmaceuticals continued to be a key growth driver for the Company, supported by strong volume growth and sustained demand across markets.
 
"We witnessed stable momentum in the Agrochemicals during the quarter, with demand trends showing encouraging signs of recovery across key segments. Healthy export visibility and improving market dynamics have supported recent price increases.
 
"Nutrition and Personal Care market witnessed healthy growth during the quarter, led by higher realizations for Niacinamide and Choline. At the same time, volumes remained resilient across end-use industries, underscoring stable market demand.
 
"We are also seeing a strong traction with customers in electronics/ semicon segment who are keen to partner with us for integrated opportunities," he added.
 
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Deepak Jain said the company successfully navigated supply chain disruptions arising from geopolitical tensions in the Middle East through diversified sourcing, strong customer relationships and operational agility, enabling effective cost pass-through and sustained growth.
 
Jain said the quarter marked the company's highest revenue in 15 quarters, driven by healthy volume growth and improved realizations. 
 
The Specialty Chemicals business reported revenue of Rs. 533 crore, supported by robust growth in Fine Chemicals and CDMO. The Nutrition business delivered revenue of Rs. 243 crore, recording its highest EBITDA in three years, while the Chemical Intermediates business staged a sharp recovery with revenue rising 38% and EBITDA surging 240% year-on-year.
 
The company also said its CDMO and Fine Chemicals pipeline has expanded to more than 100 molecules with a peak revenue potential exceeding Rs. 3,500 crore, including more than 25 confirmed molecules. Five new molecules were added during the quarter across pharmaceuticals, semiconductors and personal care.
 
Jubilant Ingrevia said it remained on track to achieve Rs. 100 crore in lean savings during FY27, continued work on its new multi-purpose plant, completed the integration of Remidex Pharma and maintained zero safety incidents across its manufacturing facilities during the quarter.
