Kemira has announced new profitability improvement measures alongside the launch of change negotiations in Finland, aiming to streamline operations and reduce costs across its global organisation.
The planned actions are expected to deliver annual savings of approximately 15 million euros and could lead to a reduction of up to 150 roles worldwide, including a maximum of 30 positions in Finland.
The negotiations will cover all Kemira employees in Finland, with the exception of the manufacturing organisation. The company currently employs around 4,900 people globally, including approximately 800 in Finland.
Kemira said the initiative may also bring wider changes, including adjustments to employment terms or job roles. The company added that it intends to minimise workforce impact wherever possible through retirements and other voluntary arrangements. Alongside these measures, Kemira will continue broader efficiency and cost-saving actions that do not affect employees.
Consultation processes in line with local legislation will also begin in other relevant countries outside Finland.
