Mutares SE & Co has completed its acquisition of Synthomer, a leading European producer and supplier of acrylic solutions, from Synthomer plc in a carve-out transaction.

 

Synthomer produces and supplies acrylic acids and acrylic esters used across a broad range of industrial applications. Its integrated product portfolio and flexible, efficient production platform allow the business to optimize its product mix and margins in response to market conditions.

 

The company generated approximately €110 million in carve-out revenues in 2025 and employs around 300 people.

 

Mutares sees significant room to improve the business operationally and commercially, with the acquisition providing a platform for profitable growth and further development.

 

The deal marks a strategic platform investment for Mutares’ Chemicals & Materials segment. It fits the investment group's strategy of acquiring businesses from special situations where operational improvements can unlock substantial value.

 

Mutares said the acquisition provides a clear path toward further operational optimization, profitable growth and value creation.
