OCI and Prefere Resins partner to accelerate decarbonization with low-carbon melamine

OCI’s ISCC PLUS certification verifies the responsible sourcing and use of renewable feedstocks throughout the product’s life cycle and supports claims of reduced carbon emissions

OCI and Prefere Resins are partnering to decarbonize the chemical industry by launching MelaminebyOCI Novo, a low-carbon, ISCC PLUS-certified melamine produced with biogas. This initiative replaces traditional natural gas-based melamine with a sustainable alternative derived from waste, suitable for producing resins in coatings, paper, textiles, and laminates.

Melamine is a key ingredient in various everyday products, valued for its strength, durability, and versatility. By introducing a verified lower-carbon melamine, OCI and Prefere Resins are taking a significant step towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting more sustainable manufacturing across the value chain.
