RPM International has agreed to acquire Italy-based waterproofing specialist Volteco S.p.A., expanding the construction-products giant’s portfolio of below-grade waterproofing technologies.

 

RPM said the acquisition will be made through its Tremco Construction Products Group (Tremco CPG). The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of fiscal 2027, subject to customary closing conditions.

 

Headquartered in Ponzano Veneto, Italy, Volteco generated €28 million in sales in calendar 2025. Its core offering includes the Amphibia waterproofing sheet membrane, along with bagged powder products for patch and repair work, flexible liquids, mortars, resins and damp-proofing materials.

 

The company’s waterproofing systems have been used on a range of high-profile projects, from historic landmarks in Venice to modern infrastructure.

 

Among its recent applications is the Santa Giulia Ice Hockey Arena in Milan, a facility built for the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. Volteco technology has also been used in an underground tunnel linking the Abruzzo Regional Citadel with L’Aquila’s bus terminal and at Y-40, described as the world’s deepest thermal pool.

 

RPM Chairman and CEO Frank Sullivan said the acquisition will broaden Tremco CPG’s technology offering and give the group additional products to deploy through its global sales network.

The acquisition adds Volteco to Tremco CPG’s portfolio of building-envelope and construction brands, which includes Tremco, Nudura, Dryvit, Willseal, Flowcrete, Nullifire and Vandex.

 

RPM operates across consumer, construction products and performance coatings businesses, with brands including Rust-Oleum, DAP, Zinsser, Varathane, The Pink Stuff, Stonhard, Carboline, Tremco, Euclid Chemical, Dryvit and Nudura. The company employs approximately 17,500 people worldwide.
