SNF, the global leader in water-soluble polymers, announced the acquisition of Obsidian Chemical Solutions (Obsidian), a fast-growing provider of specialty chemical solutions for completion operations in the oil and gas sector.
Headquartered in Midland, Texas, Obsidian has quickly established itself as a trusted partner in the Permian Basin, with one of the region’s largest bulk storage capacities and a strong manufacturing presence. Its portfolio includes customized chemical formulations for stimulation, acidizing, drill-out, cementing, and produced water treatment—solutions that enhance asset integrity and optimize production.
