SRF plans Rs. 2,500 - 2,700 cr expansion for chemicals, fluoro, specialty business

The company is planning to invest Rs. 1,700 - Rs. 1,800 crore in the chemicals business, Rs.1,100 - Rs. 1,200 crore in fluoro business, and the balance is specialty business


SRF, a chemical based multi-business entity engaged in the manufacturing of industrial and specialty intermediates, is planning a Rs. 2,500 - 2,700 crore on Capex for FY2023. 
 
Speaking at the Q4 and FY2022 earning conference call, Rahul Jain, President and Chief Financial Officer, SRF Limited said, "The company is planning to invest Rs. 1,700 - Rs. 1,800 crore in the Chemicals business, Rs.1,100 - Rs. 1,200 crore in Fluoro business, and the balance is in Specialty business. Some of those that are running as well as some of those that are in progress." 
 
"The others largely the PIY and the Technical Textiles debottlenecking and the value chain Capex that we are doing plus some other Capex with respect to the packaging film business the BOPP line that will come up in July, 2022," added Jain. 
 
The Chemicals Business reported an increase of 36% in its segment revenue from Rs. 1,153 crore to Rs. 1,572 crore during Q4 FY22 over CPLY. The operating profit of the Chemicals Business increased 83% from Rs. 275 crore to Rs. 504 crore in Q4FY22 over CPLY. 
 
The Packaging Films Business reported an increase of 42% in its segment revenue from Rs. 980 crore to Rs. 1,390 crore during Q4 FY22 when compared with CPLY. 
 
The Technical Textiles Business reported an increase of 24% in its segment revenue from Rs. 401 crore to Rs. 497 crore during Q4 FY22 over CPLY. 
 
The Other Businesses reported an increase of 20% in its segment revenue from Rs. 78 crore to Rs. 93 crore in Q4 FY22 when compared with CPLY.
