UPL Ltd. announces completion of investment of Rs. 1,580 crore by ADIA, TPG and Brookfield for 9.09% stake in UPL Sustainable Agri Solutions Limited (UPL SAS) at an equity valuation of Rs. 17,380 crore. 

 

The fund inflow will be utilised towards a committed debt reduction target of US $500 million by the end of March ’23.

 

UPL SAS will be India’s largest ‘Integrated Agtech Platform’ and will include the India crop protection business, SWAL, Adarsh Farm Services and the Nurture digital platform.

 

KKR has invested Rs. 2,460 crore for 13.33% stake in ‘Advanta Enterprises - Global Seeds Platform’ at an equity valuation of Rs. 18,450 crore. A wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and TPG to hold 22.2% stake in UPL Cayman, which will be the Global Crop Protection Platform (ex-India). These investments are independent transactions for which separate agreements have been agreed pursuant to negotiations between each of the investors and UPL Ltd.
