On Tax Day, the American Chemistry Council (ACC) is throwing its support behind sweeping tax changes it says could reshape the future of US manufacturing.

The group is recognizing what it calls “important tax policy improvements” included in the Working Families Tax Cuts Act — also known as the “One Big Beautiful Bill” — arguing the measures will help strengthen domestic chemical production and boost America’s standing in the global economy.

“Chemical manufacturers are the backbone of America’s manufacturing economy, supplying essential materials for vital sectors such as AI, semiconductors, defense, and more.”

Industry leaders point to provisions aimed at encouraging capital investment and expanding research and development, saying the policies offer long-term certainty for companies weighing major U.S.-based projects.

The ACC says those incentives could drive firms to scale up production, upgrade facilities, and accelerate innovation at home rather than abroad.

“On Tax Day, ACC applauds the Administration and Republican members of Congress for advancing these tax policies that reward domestic manufacturing, bolster U.S. competitiveness, and reinforce the chemical industry’s role in building a stronger, more resilient economy.”

The endorsement underscores a broader push by manufacturers to secure policy support as global competition intensifies and supply chains remain under pressure.
