The newly formed Group will hold leading positions across flame retardants, smoke suppressants, catalysts, absorbents, foam technologies, polymer additives and other high-performance inorganic chemical solutions
UK-based chemical manufacturer William Blythe has agreed to merge with US-based holding company Metals and Additives LLC (MAC). Backed by private equity firm H2 Equity Partners, the merger creates a global specialty chemicals platform valued at $160 million in annual revenue.
The combination brings together two established specialty chemicals businesses with deep technical expertise, strong manufacturing capabilities and complementary product portfolios.
The newly formed Group will hold leading positions across flame retardants, smoke suppressants, catalysts, absorbents, foam technologies, polymer additives and other high-performance inorganic chemical solutions.
With a broader product offering and expanded global customer reach, the combination is expected to strengthen the Group’s position as a leading global supplier of specialty chemicals.
MAC’s founders, Gregg Bennett and Mark McCaughey, will remain in leadership roles, working alongside William Blythe’s management team of David Crossley, Kevin Hudson, Michael Butler and Stephen Ormerod.
MAC is a leading North American specialty chemicals company specialising in the development, manufacture and distribution of high-performance additives and inorganic chemical solutions.
The combination gives the Group greater scale, a complementary technology and product base, and broader international reach, positioning it to serve customers across a wide range of high-performance and regulated applications.
