Wonder Industries proposes resin manufacturing unit in Gujarat

Wonder Industries Pvt Ltd has moved the Ministry of Environment and Forests for environmental clearance to its proposed plans for a resin manufacturing unit at Chiyada in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad district.

In its presentation to the Ministry for environmental clearance, the company said that it intends to produce 175000 laminated sheets per month and 1500 MTPM of phenol formaldehyde, melamine formaldehyde and urea formaldehyde resins.
The total cost of the project is Rs 90 lakh.
The total land area is 39559 sq m of which 13251 sq m is for greenbelt area development.
The company said resin will be used for its captive consumption and sale purpose.The project will draw electricity from Gujarat Electricity Board in the tune of
17.5 HP.
The company said the unit will maintain an updated copy of on-site emergency action plan providing details pertaining to hazards and risk associated with the
process and raw materials and guidelines for handling emergency situations.
Wonder Industries will employ 125 people, include 20 women.
The company said there are no reserve forest areas or sensitive places around the plant and no protected forest near the site.
In its presentation, Wonder Industries said there will not be any major potential for negative impact on the environment due to the proposed project.
On the contrary, there will be positive impact on the socio-economic environment since the project will generate some permanent and secondary employment and it will increase direct and indirect employment opportunities, the company said.
The company said it will adopt all safety and hazard identification measures besides a strong disaster management policy.
"The proposed project will bring direct employment to people from the vicinity of Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad and nearby villages. The industry in association with local
NGOs proposes to undertake welfare activities for the nearby communities," it said.
