L&T Technology Services (LTTS) has partnered with Industrial AI company Cognite to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence and data-driven solutions across asset-intensive industries.
Under the strategic partnership, LTTS will combine its engineering, manufacturing operations and asset lifecycle expertise with Cognite’s Industrial AI and data capabilities to develop industry-specific solutions for sectors including Oil & Gas, Chemicals, LNG, CPG/FMCG, Mining and Industrial Manufacturing.
As part of the collaboration, LTTS has set up a dedicated Cognite Center of Excellence and certified an initial group of more than 50 engineers. The companies will jointly develop solutions aimed at helping industrial enterprises move AI applications from pilot projects into scaled production environments.
The partnership is expected to support the deployment of AI-powered industrial applications, digital twins, predictive maintenance solutions and operational intelligence platforms.
The companies have already begun work on their first joint project with a global top-ten oil and gas company. The project is focused on transforming a manual mechanical-integrity process into a contextualised and scalable digital workflow, with the aim of enabling engineers to work more efficiently, identify risks faster and prevent downtime and safety events.
“Cognite’s growing scale across industries complements LTTS’ domain and engineering expertise,” said Girish Rishi, CEO of Cognite. “We are excited and looking forward to pairing up with LTTS’ Engineering Intelligence approach to drive value outcomes to our joint customers as AI becomes a mainstay of modern manufacturing across the world.”
The partnership will also integrate Cognite’s capabilities with LTTS’ EIOne platform as the companies seek to build solutions targeting complex industrial challenges.
“As industries increasingly look to scale AI beyond experimentation, the need for connected and contextual industrial workflows has become critical. Our partnership with Cognite strengthens LTTS’ ability to deliver Engineering Intelligence by combining deep engineering expertise with AI-native industrial experiences.
"We are excited about the potential for joint value creation by integrating Cognite’s capabilities with LTTS’ EIOne, enabling us to co-create solutions that address complex industrial challenges and accelerate the journey from AI pilots to production. Together, we will help enterprises drive greater productivity, asset performance, operational resilience, and business value,” said, Amit Chadha, CEO & Managing Director at L&T Technology Services and Member of Nasscom Executive Council.
The collaboration comes as industrial companies increasingly seek to connect engineering data, operational workflows and AI systems to improve asset performance and productivity.
