The new facility will convert crude palm oil (CPO) into refined products, including edible oils and biodiesel feedstock

GS Caltex has unveiled its state-of-the-art palm oil refining facility in Balikpapan, Indonesia, marking a major step in the company’s global bioenergy ambitions. The facility, established through ARC (AGPA Refinery Complex)—a joint venture with POSCO International—represents a KRW 260 billion investment.

The facility has an annual refining capacity of 500,000 tons and will process crude palm oil into refined products, including biodiesel feedstock and edible oils for markets in Indonesia, Korea, China, and beyond.

“The completion of the ARC palm oil refining facility is a milestone in our Green Transformation strategy and strengthens GS Caltex’s position in the global bio market,” CEO Saehong Hur said. He added that the company’s focus on hydrogen, CCUS, and plastic recycling will further enhance competitiveness across the bio value chain.
