Alfaqeer, CEO and Executive Board Member, highlighted how partnerships can accelerate development and unlock growth across the energy industry

SABIC has put partnerships in the spotlight as a key driver of energy-sector growth, with CEO Faisal M Alfaqeer stressing the value of collaboration, shared expertise and knowledge exchange at the 25th WPC Energy Congress in Riyadh.

Participating as a National Energy Champion at the October 11–15 event, Alfaqeer, CEO and Executive Board Member, highlighted how partnerships can accelerate development and unlock growth across the energy industry.

Held under the theme, “Pathways to an Energy Future for All,” the Congress was hosted in the Kingdom for the first time, bringing together ministers, CEOs and industry leaders for high-level discussions, innovation showcases and exchanges on the future of energy.

Speaking at the plenary session, “Partnering for Success – Challenges and Opportunities”, Alfaqeer said effective cooperation depends on pooling resources, combining expertise and exchanging knowledge — from research and development to plant construction and supply-chain management.

“Focusing on SABIC, we truly believe in partnerships – a belief that is evident throughout our history of more than five decades. In fact, one could argue that collaboration has been an essential element of SABIC’s growth story,” Alfaqeer noted.

The message reflects SABIC’s emphasis on collaboration as a foundation for industrial progress, spanning research, technical assessments, manufacturing infrastructure and the complex supply chains that support its operations.

SABIC leaders also took part in sessions addressing a broad range of industry priorities, including safety, cybersecurity, footprint management, technology, innovation, local content and the role of small and medium-sized enterprises.

The company’s presence extended to the Congress exhibition, where its booth attracted large crowds keen to explore technologies supporting more sustainable manufacturing. Visitors viewed solutions advancing clean-energy applications, including renewable energy and electric-vehicle infrastructure.

Through its participation, SABIC highlighted the role of partnerships, technological innovation and shared expertise in shaping the energy sector’s future.
