Siemens Energy is moving into its next chapter, announcing preparations for a transition to an independent brand following its successful development since separating from Siemens AG in 2020.

 

The company will retire the licensed Siemens Energy brand and bring its current businesses — Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy — together under a new global identity: Omtarra. The rebranding process is set to begin later this year and will be rolled out in phases.

 

The move follows the terms of a time-limited agreement that allowed Siemens Energy to continue using the Siemens brand after the spin-off. Company leaders say the timing reflects its strengthened position in the global energy market.

 

"Since our spin-off, it has been clear that the licensed Siemens Energy brand would be available to us for a limited period. Today, our company is well positioned strategically, operationally and financially. We have earned the trust of our customers and the capital markets, improved our profitability, and have ambitious growth plans for the years ahead. 

 

"Against this backdrop and given that the current brand agreement is time-limited, now is the right time to begin the transition to our own independent brand," says Christian Bruch, CEO of Siemens Energy.

 

Bruch said the company’s journey since independence has been driven by the efforts of its workforce and the foundation built under the Siemens name.

The new Omterra brand is designed to represent the company’s international reach, engineering capabilities, and ambition to support secure and sustainable energy systems worldwide.
