Puts innovation and farmer welfare at core
IFFCO-MC Crop Science Private Limited, the joint venture between Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) and Japan’s Mitsubishi Corporation, has marked its 12th Foundation Day, reaffirming its focus on innovation, quality crop protection solutions and farmer welfare.
The company, established in 2015, used the occasion to highlight its 11-year journey in strengthening Indian agriculture through an expanding portfolio of crop protection products and farmer-centric initiatives.
The celebrations brought together senior leadership and dignitaries from IFFCO and Mitsubishi Corporation, including IFFCO and IFFCO-MC Chairman Dileep Sanghani; IFFCO-MC Vice Chairman and Mitsubishi Corporation, India Chairman Tokuda Takahiro; IFFCO Managing Director K.J. Patel; and IFFCO Marketing Director and IFFCO-MC Managing Director Yogendra Kumar.
Employees who have completed five and 10 years with the company were also recognised for their contribution, underlining the role of its workforce in driving IFFCO-MC’s growth and engagement with the farming community.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanghani said, “Our 11-year journey has been shaped by one constant purpose, to serve Indian agriculture and create meaningful value for farmers. From our humble beginnings to building a strong portfolio and an extensive farmer network, IFFCO-MC has continued to grow with the changing needs of Indian agriculture. As we move forward, our focus will remain on bringing innovative, effective and sustainable solutions for the farming community.”
IFFCO-MC has expanded its portfolio across insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, plant growth regulators and emerging biologicals, targeting improved crop health, productivity and more sustainable farming practices.
The company has also built a broad farmer-facing network comprising cooperative societies, channel partners, IFFCO Bazars, Farmer Service Centres and other touchpoints across the country. The network is aimed at improving farmers’ access to crop protection solutions while allowing the company to respond to changing agricultural needs.
A key element of IFFCO-MC’s farmer-first approach is its ‘Kisan Suraksha Bima Yojana’, under which the company provides free accidental insurance on the purchase of IFFCO-MC products.
Tokuda Takahiro, Vice Chairman, IFFCO-MC & Chairman, Mitsubishi Corporation, India, said, “Agriculture is evolving rapidly, and the solutions of tomorrow will require strong collaboration, technology and a deep understanding of farmers’ needs. Mitsubishi Corporation’s association with IFFCO-MC reflects our shared commitment to contributing to Indian agriculture. By bringing together global expertise with IFFCO’s strong farmer connect, we aim to create solutions that are relevant, accessible and impactful for Indian farmers.”
IFFCO-MC said its single-tier distribution model is designed to promote transparency, efficiency and farmer-friendly pricing. With its focus on quality crop protection products, emerging biological solutions and farmer welfare initiatives, the company aims to further strengthen its role in India’s evolving agricultural ecosystem.
