The new Cosmodyne plant will produce liquid oxygen and nitrogen daily
Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group has officially commissioned a state-of-the-art air separation unit for Coregas, a Nippon Sanso company, in Australia's Darra.
The new Cosmodyne plant will produce liquid oxygen and nitrogen daily, with capacity for future expansion to serve Queensland’s industrial gas, specialty, and medical markets.
“Our engineering team has developed a specialized air separation plant incorporating a unique process cycle that delivers optimized liquid production and best-in-class power efficiency,” said George Pappagelis, President of Nikkiso CE&IG’s Applied Technologies Business Unit.
The project was delivered through a seamless collaboration between Nikkiso CE&IG’s global manufacturing network and its Australian operations. Critical equipment was built at the company’s India facility, then integrated with locally manufactured components and installed by the Australian team. This approach provided a fully installed turnkey solution, blending global engineering expertise with strong local execution.
“This new facility is a game-changer for Queensland – driving real sustainability gains and ensuring a resilient supply of essential gases for local industry. We’re raising the bar for the region, powering growth and decarbonization with confidence,” said Tarun Changrani, Managing Director at Coregas.
