Ceramics industry is Santa Catarina's largest consumer in this modality and the contract marks the state-owned company's entry into the sector
Petrobras has signed a contract with Portobello, one of the largest industrial customers in Santa Catarina and the largest gas consumer in the state. The partnership consolidates Petrobras' participation in the Santa Catarina free market and marks the company's entry into the supply of natural gas to the ceramics segment.
“We are in the process of expanding and consolidating our client portfolio in the free natural gas market. The new contracts that have been signed, such as this one, with Petrobras entering as a supplier in a new sector, demonstrate that we are on the right track. The company has been developing a new portfolio of gas products, with a diversified portfolio of contracts, in order to offer the best option for commercial partners”, says Álvaro Tupiassu, executive manager of Gas and Energy at Petrobras.
The company invests more than US$7 billion in new natural gas supply infrastructure, in addition to offering several flexible contract options, adapted to customer needs, with different terms and indexes.
For Portobello, the partnership represents an important step towards increasing the company’s efficiency and competitiveness. Petrobras’ supply of natural gas is in line with Portobello Group’s focus on continuously improving its energy matrix, maintaining high levels of industrial performance.

The partnership with Petrobras gives us supply security and commercial conditions compatible with our large-scale production challenges, further strengthening our leading position in the sector,” highlights Luciano Abrantes, CEO of the Portobello unit of the Portobello Group.
