LNG deliveries will be made on an ex-ship basis to various terminals in India, starting in 2026
QatarEnergy has signed a 17-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) for the supply of up to one million tons per annum (MTPA) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the Republic of India.
Under the terms of the agreement, LNG deliveries will be made on an ex-ship basis to various terminals in India, starting in 2026.
Commenting on the occasion, His Excellency Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of QatarEnergy, said: “We are delighted to extend our valued partnership with GSPC through this long-term agreement, which underscores our continued commitment to supporting India’s growing energy needs. This collaboration not only reinforces the enduring ties between our two companies but also contributes to India’s vision of enhancing its energy security and transitioning toward a cleaner energy mix. QatarEnergy remains dedicated to delivering safe and reliable LNG supplies to support India in its endeavors.”
The new SPA builds upon the first long-term LNG supply agreement signed between QatarEnergy and GSPC in 2019. It reflects the continued trust and cooperation between the two organizations and highlights their shared vision for a sustainable energy future.
This agreement reaffirms QatarEnergy’s commitment to strengthening global partnerships, promoting cleaner energy solutions, and supporting the economic development goals of key markets around the world.
