Waaree Clean Energy Solutions (WCES), a wholly owned subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited, is entering India’s specialty gases market as the country accelerates semiconductor, electronics and solar-cell manufacturing.

 

The company is setting up a pan-India specialty gases business aimed at supplying the ultra-high-purity (UHP) gases and chemicals required by semiconductor fabs, OSAT and ATMP units, advanced electronics manufacturers and solar cell makers.

 

India’s push to build a domestic semiconductor ecosystem under the Semicon India 2.0 programme is driving demand for high-purity process gases and chemicals—many of which are still imported. WCES plans to address that supply gap with a new specialty gases plant at GIDC Saykha, Dahej, Gujarat.

 

“Semiconductor and solar cell manufacturing cannot scale in India without a reliable, high-purity gas and chemical supply chain alongside it,” said Anuj Sharma, CEO, WCES. “This is a natural extension of our deep-tech manufacturing and clean energy expertise. It positions us to serve India's fabs, OSAT and ATMP units, advanced electronics manufacturers and solar cell lines from day one, with product on the ground.”

 

WCES will roll out its specialty gases business in phases, with infrastructure designed around semiconductor-grade safety and purity requirements.

 

The planned capabilities include: 

 

Specialty gases warehousing: Multi-purpose storage and handling facilities built to semiconductor-grade safety and purity standards.

 

UHP Ammonia purification: A dedicated unit for semiconductor-grade ammonia.

 

Phosphine/Hydrogen (PH₃/H₂) mixing: Precision gas blends for critical doping and deposition processes.

 

UHP Oxygen: An additional core process gas for advanced manufacturing.

 

UHP Hydrogen: Already commercially available from WCES.

 

Beyond supplying individual gases, WCES plans to offer end-to-end gas and chemical infrastructure for manufacturers.

 

The company will design custom gas and chemical supply systems, along with nitrogen plants, and deploy its Total Gas & Chemical Management System covering storage, delivery, safety monitoring and inventory management.

 

Its UHP portfolio will include Silane, Ammonia, Nitrous Oxide, Phosphine mixtures, Boron Trichloride (BCl₃), Trimethyl Aluminium, Diborane and Germane/H₂ mixes, HBr, SF₆, Nitric Oxide, fluorinated gases and calibration gases.

 

With pan-India supply planned, WCES is positioning the new vertical as a domestic backbone for the high-purity gas and chemical requirements of India’s emerging semiconductor and solar manufacturing ecosystem.
