Enhanced operations at Nicholasville facility help brands meet sustainability goals

Amcor, a global leader in responsible packaging solutions, has announced an investment in its Nicholasville, Kentucky facility to expand its post-consumer recycled (PCR) packaging production capabilities, aiming to better support the diverse PCR requirements of its customers.

The system features dedicated silos that supply multiple production lines, enabling precise PCR blending and allowing customers to select their ideal PCR content. This flexible system supports PCR levels up to 100% for both custom and stock rigid packaging. The upgrade highlights Amcor’s commitment to optimizing manufacturing processes and expanding the use of post-consumer recycled materials.

“Many brands are seeking packaging that not only protects and promotes their products but also supports their sustainability goals,” said Greg Rosati, vice president of Amcor Rigid Packaging North America. “This facility expands customer options for recycled content levels in packaging and underscores Amcor’s commitment to advancing a circular economy. While the investment was initially driven by the specific needs of our spirits customers, it also presents opportunities to serve a broad range of sectors.” In addition to the spirits market, the new system will be available to customers in the healthcare, food, and home and personal care segments.
