Barentz said the transition aligns with its global strategy of bringing regional operations under a unified brand to enhance collaboration
Global ingredients specialist Barentz has completed the integration of Additive Solutions into its global business, with the Australia and New Zealand distributor officially rebranding to Barentz.
The move marks the culmination of a partnership spanning more than a decade and follows Barentz's full acquisition of the business in December 2024. Barentz first acquired a majority stake in Additive Solutions in 2014 after the company established itself as a key player in the region following its founding in 2009.
The rebrand strengthens Barentz's footprint across Australia and New Zealand, combining Additive Solutions' local market expertise with Barentz's global supplier network, technical capabilities and ingredient portfolio.
Customers across sectors including infant nutrition, bakery, confectionery, dairy, beverages, nutraceuticals and sports nutrition are expected to benefit from expanded access to ingredient solutions and technical support. The company also serves a wide range of applications, including chocolate, protein bars, breakfast cereals and processed meats.
Barentz said the transition aligns with its global strategy of bringing regional operations under a unified brand to enhance collaboration, expand capabilities and drive long-term growth. Existing customers and principal partners will continue working with the same local team while gaining direct access to the company's international resources and supplier network.
"Rebranding to Barentz is a natural next step in our journey," said Andrew Sullivan, Managing Director Australia & New Zealand at Barentz.
"We're maintaining the relationships and expertise our customers rely on, while connecting them to greater global resources and a broader portfolio. For our principal partners, it brings together Barentz's global strength with Additive Solutions' deep local market knowledge and trusted relationships, a powerful combination for future growth."
The rebranding also represents a key milestone in Barentz's broader Asia-Pacific expansion plans.
"The rebranding of Additive Solutions to Barentz is a significant milestone in our APAC growth strategy. By fully integrating our Australia and New Zealand operations under the Barentz brand, we are better positioned to leverage our regional scale. This move ensures that our partners in ANZ benefit from seamless global network that remains deeply rooted in our expertise," said Marc Duchene, Regional CEO Asia-Pacific at Barentz.
The transition reinforces Barentz's long-term commitment to Australia and New Zealand as it continues to expand its presence and capabilities across the Asia-Pacific region.
