BASF India logged a strong 24% year-on-year (YoY) increase in consolidated revenue from operations, reaching Rs. 4,832.19 crore
Leading chemical manufacturer BASF India Limited reported a mixed set of financial results for the second quarter of financial year 2026-27 (Q2 FY27), showcasing resilient top-line expansion amid severe profitability pressures.
During the September quarter, BASF India logged a strong 24% year-on-year (YoY) increase in consolidated revenue from operations, reaching Rs. 4,832.19 crore, up from Rs. 3,895.77 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Total income for the quarter also experienced an upward trajectory, settling at Rs. 4,865.44 crore compared to Rds. 3,920.61 crore last year.
The robust sales volumes did not translate into a healthier bottom line due to an escalating burden on raw materials and stock purchases. Total expenses for Q2 FY27 jumped steeply to Rs. 4,782.37 crore from Rs. 3,785.26 crore in Q2 FY26. As a result of this expenditure surge, consolidated net profit plunged 42.4% YoY to Rs. 61.71 crore, down from Rs. 107.15 crore in the year-ago period.
“BASF India demonstrated resilience during the quarter, with most businesses delivering improved revenue driven by robust customer demand, volume growth, and favorable pricing trends. While seasonal weather-related disruptions impacted the Agricultural Solutions business, the broad-based strength of our portfolio across Industrial Solutions and Nutrition & Care helped us capture opportunities emerging from evolving market conditions.
“While higher input costs moderated profitability in the quarter, our continued focus on operational discipline and close collaboration with customers positions us well to support their growth ambitions and create long-term value for all stakeholders," said Alexander Gerding, Managing Director, BASF India Limited & Head - BASF Group Companies in India.
