The deals strengthen the company’s push to expand its footprint across South America’s fast-growing energy market
Burckhardt Compression has landed two major orders tied to Petrobras’ Boaventura Energy Complex in Brazil, securing contracts to supply six process gas compressor packages and related services.
The deals strengthen the company’s push to expand its footprint across South America’s fast-growing energy market and deepen its presence in Brazil, one of the region’s key energy hubs.
The compressor packages were ordered by engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies overseeing three parallel projects at the Boaventura Energy Complex in Itaboraí, Rio de Janeiro. The equipment will support natural gas processing, as well as new refining and lubricant production units.
Formerly known as Comperj, the Boaventura Energy Complex is a major component of Petrobras’ decarbonization strategy. The site brings together cleaner natural gas processing with planned initiatives in green hydrogen research and biorefining, including projects targeting sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
“South America is a strategic growth market for Burckhardt Compression, and Brazil is one of the region's most important energy hubs," said Andreas Brautsch, President Systems Division at Burckhardt Compression.
“Winning this order from Petrobras is a significant success for our team and a strong validation of our commitment to the region. It demonstrates the value of being close to our customers, understanding their needs and supporting them with local expertise backed by global engineering capabilities.”
The latest contracts underscore Burckhardt Compression’s growing focus on South America and its expanding collaboration with Petrobras and its project partners.
The company said its recently opened additional service center in Brazil will further bolster its local presence, enabling it to expand service capabilities and provide closer support to customers across the region.
