The company reported a widened consolidated net loss of Rs. 28.08 crore for Q2 FY27

Camlin Fine Sciences Limited reported its financial results for the second quarter of FY27, showcasing top-line revenue growth that was overshadowed by a sharp drop in profitability and ongoing liquidity pressures.

The specialty chemical manufacturer posted consolidated revenue from operations of approximately Rs. 491.5 crore, marking a 9.15% increase compared to Rs. 450.3 crore recorded in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. For the first half of FY27, total revenue expanded by 17.9% year-on-year to Rs. 1,011.3 crore compared to Rs. 858 crore.

Despite the healthy revenue trajectory, bottom-line metrics deteriorated significantly. Consolidated EBITDA plummeted by 93.73% year-on-year to Rs. 2.23 crore from Rs. 35.63 crore in Q2 FY26, squeezing the EBITDA margin down to just 0.45% from 7.91%. Gross margins contracted to 39.8% due to elevated raw material prices, higher freight costs, and lower capacity utilization in its aroma business—particularly lower sales volumes in its vanillin and ethyl vanillin lines.

Consequently, the company reported a widened consolidated net loss of Rs. 28.08 crore for Q2 FY27, compared to a net loss of Rs. 18.7 crore in the year-ago period.

To combat working capital constraints and strengthen its capital structure, the Board of Directors has approved a rights issue of up to Rs. 250 crore.
