Cummins India posts 18% revenue growth in Q1 FY27 as domestic sales drive performance

Cummins India has reported a strong start to the new fiscal year, with total sales rising 18% year-on-year to Rs. 3,375 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.
 
Domestic demand remained the key growth driver, with domestic sales climbing 22% year-on-year to Rs. 2,854 crore. Exports stood at Rs. 521 crore, remaining flat compared with the same period last year but improving 16% sequentially.
 
Cummins India’s profit before tax (before exceptional items) stood at Rs. 721 crore, with a margin of 21.4%. While profitability remained strong, the margin declined marginally by 0.7% compared with the same quarter last year and was down 12% sequentially.
 
The company reported a profit after tax of Rs. 543 crore, translating into a net profit margin of 16.1%.
 
Shveta Arya, Managing Director, Cummins India Limited, said: “The new fiscal year began on a steady note, supported by robust domestic demand across key end markets and our order execution contributing to revenue growth. 
 
"Exports continue to be resilient in major regions that we supply despite the geopolitical developments. These headwinds led to higher commodity costs and inflationary trends impacting margins. We are closely tracking these developments and remain focused on operational efficiencies and cost discipline."
