VAYU, a new air compressor brand from Elgi Equipments, has launched in India with a 5–45 kW portfolio aimed at manufacturers seeking dependable, efficient and easy-to-operate compressed air solutions.

 

The brand enters the market as India’s manufacturing sector continues to expand, with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) accounting for approximately 35.4% of manufacturing output, 48.58% of exports and 31.1% of GDP, according to the Economic Survey 2025–26.

 

Built in India, VAYU is positioned around the operating needs of India’s growing manufacturing businesses, offering screw compressor technology alongside service support, genuine spare parts and warranty coverage.

The launch portfolio spans 5–45 kW, with both fixed-speed and variable-speed configurations and operating pressures from 7 to 12.5 bar. The range is supported by accessories, genuine spare parts, warranty coverage and nationwide service support.

 

VAYU is intended to extend Elgi’s engagement with India’s manufacturing base beyond its established reciprocating compressor business. The new brand brings screw compressor technology to a broader group of businesses looking to upgrade their compressed air infrastructure as production expands and technology adoption increases.

 

For manufacturers, compressed air is a critical production utility, making reliability and continuity central to productivity and operational performance. VAYU says its proposition combines dependable equipment with simple operation and maintenance and accessible support throughout the ownership lifecycle.
